Sunset Preschool is a non-profit cooperative preschool founded in 1954 serving children ages 3-5 years old. Our hours are 9-11:30 with the 3’s attending Tuesday and Thursday and the 4’s attending Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There is also an opportunity for students to extend their day until 3:00 pm following our morning schedule.

Through play, Sunset teachers and parents promote creativity and confidence while teaching students about themselves and the world around them. Our developmentally appropriate program allows children to make choices and explore while gaining social, emotional and academic readiness in preparation for kindergarten.

Each family contributes approximately 15-20 hours per year supporting the teacher as a parent helper, is responsible for one committee job, and attending 3 general membership meeting. Many lasting friendships are formed at a parent cooperative.
