Sunset Preschool is a non-profit cooperative preschool founded in 1954 serving children ages 3-5 years old. Our hours are 9-11:30 with the 3’s attending Tuesday and Thursday and the 4’s attending Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Now offering our “Flexible Schedule” where students may add extra days if we have space available.  Students can take advantage of our Lunch Bunch, where children bring a lunch and stay until 1:00 pm following the morning school day.  We also have the option for an extended day until 3:00 pm.

Through play, Sunset teachers and parents promote creativity and confidence while teaching students about themselves and the world around them. Our developmentally appropriate program allows children to make choices and explore while gaining social, emotional and academic readiness in preparation for kindergarten.

Each family contributes approximately 15-20 hours per year supporting the teacher as a parent helper, attending 3 general membership meetings, and is responsible for one committee job. Many lasting friendships are formed at a parent cooperative.
